Governor’s Games

Important Note:
Mardi-Gras parades will be passing a few blocks away from Hilton on both Saturday and Sunday.
We have been informed that “Convention Center Blvd.” will remain “open”.  But they advised to “avoid Poydras” at all costs and go from “Tchoupitoulas exit” to Convention Center Blvd.

Reminder that you have to allow for parade traffic if you are playing at the Hilton.  There didn’t seem to be any problem with parking at Hilton Self-Parking Garage this morning as it was not full when we just left it a few minutes age.  The ground level Whale Parking Lot had plenty parking spots also.

But if the first Up-Ramp into the Self- Parking Gargage on Convention Center Blvd is closed later today or tomorrow, continue on Convention Center Blvd pass the first Up-Ramp to first right into yard and you will see a second Up-Ramp an opening into the building on your right into the Hilton Self-Parking Garage. There will be a small sign that says “Hilton Self-Parking Garage” on the fence into yard.

“Event” Parking at the Hilton – $15 Pre-Sale from 7:am-3:00pm in Health Club on 6th floor in Health Club.
You must bring your Hilton parking ticket up to Health Club’s front desk by elevator and you will be able to “pay right at Health Club Desk” to get your “Event Parking” rate.  The Event Parking price applies only to those parking in the Hilton Self-Parking garage or Outside Open “Whale” Parking Lot.  This is for “Event Parking” for the tournament only – it is not an Overnight Parking pass. Overnight parking is for those teams who have rooms at the Hilton as they have to pay a different price for overnight parking.  Parking meters are not free on weekend.

Please forward to your director, coaches, players and parents so they get this message.

2024 Governor’s Games will be held on Saturday, February 3 & Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Use pull-down menu for Registration, Gym Directions, Schedule info, Hotels & Updates.

Important Notes:

Coach must present their most updated printed AES Governor’s Games roster to ref before the beginning of each match.  Handwritten copies will not be accepted.  Schedule must be a printed AES Governor’s Games roster and must include players uniform # or they will not be allowed to participate.

We are playing at 3 different sites and don’t have the ability to print rosters at each site so be sure you remember to bring it.  And if you have any changes you need to make to your roster, do so asap as you won’t be able to update them on AES after Friday night before tournament.

Teams scheduled to play at Alario Center should be aware that chairs are limited there.
Folding chairs are allowed at Alario and we strong suggest that you bring your own to assure you have a seat.

Check AES for schedule updates periodically, even as late as on Saturday morning of tournament.

Please know the rules below regarding folding chairs and food/drink availability at your playing venue.
