2026 Governor’s Games will be a “2-day” tournament again this year.
All teams will play “both days”.

We have added “Power Pools” in the 13’s-18’s age divisions. 
Club directors have been requesting that we offer “Power Pools” in our tournaments.  This will make it possible for them to separate their stronger teams from the other teams. Clubs with more than 1 team in the same age division will no longer be forced to play one another. Be sure to specify when you register on AES.

“Power Pools” must have a minimum of 3 teams.
3 or 4 Teams:
Day 1: Round Robin
Day 2: Automatic Gold Bracket seeding  {combined with top teams from other same age division}
5 or more Teams:
Day 1: Round Robin
Day 2: Power Pool Bracket Play

All players and coaches receive a free souvenir Governor’s Games “T-Shirt“. The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports provides the T-shirts.  Be sure to have coach or team rep pick up your team’s bag ot t-shirts at court manager’s desk at the gym where you will be assigned to play on Saturday.  You may not be at same gym on Sunday

Coach must print their most updated AES Governor’s Games roster, bring with them to tournament and show to ref before the beginning of each match.  It is their responsibility to have it in their possession at all times.  Officials will check printed AES Governor’s Games roster for each team at the beginning of play. Only USAV members listed on the printed AES roster may participate in the event.
Please note: Governor’s Games cannot accept age waived players. It is a Bayou Region rule.

Events directors may at their discretion determine if any fees will be charged for roster changes prior to or during their event.  A player may not be added to a roster once the team has begun play.
